Words cannot express the fantasy of Waterford Golf Club. You are most welcomed to our golf course. Waiting for your visit!

Founded in 1912, Waterford Golf Club is situated on a hill overlooking the historic city of Waterford in the sunny south east of Ireland. Waterford is also home to the world famous Waterford Crystal Factory. Evidence of this can be seen by the magnificent Waterford Crystal Scratch Trophy which is on display in the foyer. It is the largest sporting trophy ever produced by Waterford Crystal and to view it is worth a visit in itself.

A parkland course with good views of the countryside. The original nine holes were officially opened in June 1913.

The architect of this layout was Willie Park Jnr of Musselburgh. This was extended to 18 holes by the much celebrated architect, James Braid.

Together they successfully created one of the finest inland courses in Ireland. This is exemplified by the spectacular closing stretch, in particular the magnificent downhill 18th. The elevated tee for this classic closing hole couldn't have been better positioned.

The 360 degree views over the surrounding countryside of three counties are quite awe-inspiring and the narrow gorse lined fairway demands the most accurate of tee shots.

Our course is particularly renowned for the quality of its putting surfaces and for its friendly atmosphere.

The course will appeal to low and middle handicappers.

For my Golf Course Review of the Waterford Golf Club is a decent Golf course in general. However it is uninspiring (apart from the 18th) and although narrow is a very "boring" course. There is limited number of Fairway Bunkers, bar 2 holes, no water features and whilst the greens are in good condition, many are not challenging. The rough is poorly maintained and with basic levels of water, the rough can become unplayable. Very Short Course, poor clubhouse and would not recommend for the price - particularly during the summer months. Save your money and visit one of the many in Waterford that are superior. Pity it was so poor considering the 18th is difficult / challenging and the view of the city is beautiful.
